Distrowatch speaks the truth

Distrowatch reviews the new Ubuntu release and finds that it falls short of expectations while singling out Fedora Core 5 as “possibly the most stable and dependable Linux distribution ever built“.

I can’t say I’m surprised, following Ubuntu’ decisionmaking for 6.06 during the development cycle, I was rather surprised to see the amount of new code they decided to drop into their platform given that they wanted to support 6.06 longterm. I’m guessing that 5 years down the line we’ll know if I was right in my assumption that this is pure madness from a QA point of view.

Regardless I’m pleased to see that Fedora keeps getting good reviews, it shows that the general decisionmaking within the project is turning out a solid product for people.
