Do we need a different kind of bug detection in our next development cycle?
I stumbled upon the Cooperative Bug Isolation project a while back and at the time I didn’t think much of it, but lately I’ve been thinking about the effort required to spot hard to hit bugs and what we can do to remove them. I don’t really see the users filing all the required reports and certainly it would be hard for developers to spend time on all these reports. However if we had a system in place to detect bad code like CBI it might reduce the pressure and we could focus on usability and polish bugs for manual entering in bugzilla.
Am I doing lots of drugs if thinking this way I wonder?
