OpenSolaris ventures where Linux dares not?

by davidnielsen

It seems that OpenSolaris might be dual licensed under the CDDL and GPLv3. This follows Linus Torvalds statement that the Linux kernel would not go towards the GPLv3.

Maybe this will enable code sharing between the two projects. I, for one, would love to play with some of the OpenSolaris technolgies like dtrace and ZFS but sadly there are no OpenSolaris distributions which are on par with the wonderful Fedora.

Let’s wait and see how this unfolds.
