As Hans De Goede correctly points out this is a Fedora customization which will pop up with every OpenGL powered game. Credit where credit is due, Go Team Fedora!

I’m glad you like this _Fedora_ feature. This dialog is thrown by
/usr/bin/opengl-game-wrapper.sh
Which we (the Games SIG) use for any Games which use OpenGL.
Anyways I just wanted to make clear this is a Fedora customisation, which we add to all OpenGL using games and not something UFO:AI specific.

I wasn’t sure it it was something Fedora put in there or a UFO:AI feature so I didn’t specifically credit it. Regardless it’s a gutsy move, can we do a similarly clearly worded dialog for every issue caused by patents I wonder “sorry not our fault, elect better officials”. I have a feeling doing that would make the Red Hat Legal guys pale though.
Also this error dialog is more useful than what the desktop effects stuff currently fails with when hardware is unsupport, maybe it would be a venue worth exploring.
